In the first week of September 2014 the United States government announced that the leader of Al-Shabab has been killed by US forces. The leader Al-Ahmed Abdi Godane, also known as Mukhtar C / ramaan Abu Zubayr was killed on Monday September 1, 2014.
Repots said Godane was traveling in a convoy with other leaders of Al-Shabab when they came under attack from US Special Forces who were trucking them down for months. The Al-Shabab vehicles with the leaders inside them were destroyed.

China and Ethiopia signed multiple business and loan agreements in Addis Ababa. The Chinese Prime Minster arrived in Ethiopia today to start his official African tour. After his visit to Ethiopia he will also visit Nigeria, Angola and Kenya as part of his tour of Africa.

Although the position held by the Egyptian government is disappointing, Sudan is giving its (full) support to the project after realizing the benefits of the dam.
